Safety by design

Trust depends on clear rules, accountable people and evidence.

Kheya is designed around parent or guardian involvement, controlled communication and data minimisation. We do not treat a badge or automated check as a complete safeguarding system.

01

Online class boundaries

Classes use private organisational joining details. Tutors and students must not use private messaging for Kheya teaching. Parents are told how classes, attendance, communication, recordings and missed sessions will work before enrolment.

  • Approved organisational channels
  • No private tutor–student messaging
  • Parent visibility
  • Clear reporting and escalation routes
02

Recording safely

Where a cohort recording is introduced, it will be announced and restricted to authorised access. Kheya’s intended default is protected streaming for the enrolled cohort, downloads and public links disabled, access recorded and a short retention period. A safeguarding concern may require immediate restriction or preservation under an authorised process.

03

Teacher readiness

Identity, credentials, work history, references, teaching quality and appropriate safeguarding evidence form separate parts of the process. Requirements are documented for each role and location; Kheya will not claim a check that has not been completed.

04

Privacy around children

Initial enquiries are completed by a parent or guardian. The website asks only for information needed to discuss placement and explicitly asks families not to submit medical, payment, safeguarding or other sensitive details through the general form.

05

Raising a concern

For a concern about a Kheya interaction, a parent or guardian should use the contact form and choose ‘Ask a question’, stating that the matter is a safety concern without adding unnecessary sensitive detail. If anyone is in immediate danger, contact the emergency services rather than waiting for an online response.
