Parent guide
Choose tuition by the evidence around the teaching—not the loudness of the promise.
Good online tuition should be understandable before you pay. Ask how the teacher is selected, who is responsible for the service, how your child is placed and what evidence you will receive after lessons begin.
Start with the teacher and the fit
Ask who will actually teach, which syllabus they know, how their experience was checked and whether you can see a relevant profile. Then ask how the provider decides that your child belongs in that class.
- Named teacher before enrolment
- Relevant curriculum evidence
- Class size and level explained
- A diagnostic or informed placement process
Understand the learning cycle
A timetable tells you when teaching happens; it does not tell you how learning is supported. Ask what students do before and after class, how work is marked, and how recurring misconceptions reach the next lesson.
Test the safety and communication model
Ask which channels are approved, whether tutors can privately message children, who parents contact, what happens when a concern is raised, and how recordings and personal information are handled.
Read the commercial terms
Before payment, you should know the price period, what is included, when teaching starts, what happens if the cohort is not ready, and the rules for cancellation, missed sessions and tutor absence.
